New research in neuroscience demonstrates the critical connection between students' emotions and their learning process. Theater Pedagogy is an effective and motivating way to build learning environments where students can establish emotional connections to the English language. This workshop is led by professional, English-speaking actors who work regularly in the EFL classroom. The workshop is focused on short and easy drama and improvisation activities which can be used between larger content blocks to energize students, or as tools to explore a variety of topics and themes. The participatory workshop will provide practical tips on how to create a trust environment where students are willing to try new things. Teachers leave the program with new tools for their lessons and an experiential introduction into using drama and improvisation techniques in English lessons.
