Art in Action Week / Grades 5-8
An innovative mix of our most popular performing arts activities, the Art in Action Week teaches a variety of English skills in the context of the arts. From writing and performing short theater skits to improvisation games aiding students understanding of the hidden nuances of communication, participants will gain an opportunity to work in the language physically through an embodied approach. Aside from performance, a range of other techniques and activities are used to help students communicate in English.

How it works
The Art in Action Week is normally 5-days, Mon-Friday. Students receive 5-6 instruction hours per day. The program is perfect for grades 5-6 but can be adapted for older students as well.
Every week includes:
Morning Mixer - games and activities
Mini theater skits- writing, rehearsing, and performing
Stop-motion animation - using smartphones (optional)
Sports and Language games
The Big Show
The Art in Action Week concludes with an optional presentation for families and/or other pupils.
