Monster Parade / Grades 1-2
One, Two, Three, Four, the Creepy Monster Crawls on the Floor
Our Monster Parade encourages students to create, describe and engage with the creatures that only live in their imagination! This two to three-day program teaches students how to describe the attributes of diverse creatures in English, from how they look to what kind of food they like to eat. The program introduces basic English nouns, verbs and sentences in a playful performative workshop. In addition to crafting activities, students will learn games, songs and dances which will be performed during the finale of the project – The Monster Parade.
How it Works
For 2-3 days our Native Speakers will work with one or more classes of 1st or 2nd grade students. The project takes place over 4 x 45-minute lessons per day. The lessons include team building, signing, and art.
The program concludes with a short (15-minute) presentation from the participating classes.
