Media Week / Grades 5-13
Students bring more to life than just the English language in the Media Project Week. Through the fascinating art of stop-motion animation and film, students create short videos on a wide range of topics and with diverse thematic focuses. Skills include learning to write scripts, voice characters and perform in videos. Students and teachers alike will be introduced to complex stop-motion techniques which provide an illustrative and entertaining medium through which to tell a story. This one-week project culminates with a Media Festival where students showcase their work to friends, family and classmates.

How it works
The English Media Week takes place over 5-days, each day students receive 5-6 instruction hours. Over the course of the week, students will develop an idea, turn the idea into a screenplay, and produce and edit their own short video.
Every week includes:
Character Building - drawing, painting, building or performing a character.
Animation Workshop - learning the techniques of stop-motion animation.
Designing a Film Poster - pupils develop their own advertising campaign for their film.
Media Festival - sharing the final results and process with friends and family.
The highlight of the English Media Week is the festival on Friday afternoon for students families and other pupils.
