THE IDEA

Cultural education is increasingly taking place digitally - cultural organisations are putting courses online, and museums, theaters and music institutions are also searching for digital alternatives to their analog offers. Young people already use the internet to explore and learn in the visual and performing arts. But Covid-19 has now accelerated this development and made the need to provide access to high quality, curated digital cultural education a pressing necessity.

Specifically, we now require solid pedagogical and didactic training courses for groups of students and teachers. The existing field of digital cultural education is vast and confusing, hardly interlinked and the quality of the offerings varies greatly. Schools and cultural institutions, teachers, students and cultural actors lack a central digital platform that provides a reliable selection of offerings along with professional guidance and support on using and creating their own content for use in a school setting.

THE PROGRAM

This is where interact.online can serve the wider community. InterACT will develop a free platform that offers professional courses online, including training for teachers, cultural operators and projects for students. Additionally InterACT will offer coaching and production assistance to other organizations looking to translate their content to a digital format.

The program is currently seeking funding but the concept has already attracted a network of strong partners who will contribute their expertise to make the platform a success.

Landesinstitut für Lehrerbildung und Schulentwicklung - Hamburg (outreach and enrolment of teachers into the courses)
Landesinstitut für Schulqualität und Lehrerbildung Sachsen (outreach and enrolment of teachers into the courses)
The Big Challenge - an international educational company - (promotion of the courses to over 260.000 students in Germany tens of thousands more across Europe.)
